The National Night Out is held the first Tuesday in August. First held in 1984, the program has grown to include many communities all over the country. The event is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as the Neighborhood Watch, and other anti-crime efforts. Some neighborhoods hold block parties at the street-level or even an entire sub-division to observe National Night Out. This year, we will celebrate National Night Out on August 3rd.
